1 Peter 1:15-16 commands, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
At the very heart of the meaning of holiness is the idea of separation….
- At Emmanuel we believe that God calls His children to live a separated life from sin and the world-system run by Satan (1 John 2:15-17). We are to be different from the world. This belief influences our worship style and music. You will find our services to be conservative and traditional, yet enthusiastic and joyful.
- Additionally, we believe that God’s holiness directs us as a church to be separate from apostasy, as well as doctrinal and “New Evangelical” compromise (2 Cor. 6:14 – 7:1; 2 Thess. 3:6, 14-15). Because we at EBC are passionately driven by a love for our Master and His holiness, it is imperative that Biblical separation always be exercised in love, humility, and compassion.
